Our Lady of Guidance

Our Lady of Guidance (Latin: Nostra Domina de Via) is a Roman Catholic title of the Blessed Virgin Mary associated with a sixteenth-century image of the Immaculate Conception widely venerated by Filipinos. The wooden Black Madonna is considered the oldest extant Marian statue in the Philippines. Locally venerated as patroness of navigators and travelers, the image is enshrined in the Ermita Church in Manila, Philippines.

Due to its age and fragility, the original Marian image does not leave the premises of shrine except when a reigning Pope visits the country.
